Setup

There are just three easy steps to downloading and installing the Mobile Plugin for Joomla: 1. Download the files (a basic template and the plug-in itself). 2. Install the template. 3. Install the plug-in. To have the plug-in support advanced functions (e.g. image scaling), there is the optional 4th step of downloading and installing WURFL, or updating it if you already have it installed. The Set-Up Guide on this page will walk you through the steps.

Once Mobile Plugin has been installed it is basically ready to go. There are only two mandatory steps in the configuration phase: selecting the mobile template you downloaded (default: Mobile_friendly), and selecting the normal template for desktop viewing (default: beez). Now your Joomla site will be optimized for browsing on any mobile device. However, for an even more perfect fit to particular devices or technical constraints, you also have a range of configuration options for both the template and the plug-in.
